Harry Potter Week! It all ends 7/15.
HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!!!
Why so chipper you ask? Maybe because it’s HARRY POTTER WEEK, a very special week here at goBRANDgo! We have quite the following for Harry Potter and are all anxiously awaiting the midnight premiere for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows this Thursday. Did I mention that we’re all going to the show together…in matching t-shirts!? Yep, I’m pretty excited if you couldn’t tell. My goal by Thursday: to re-read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. That means reading 759 pages within the next 3 days. That may sound unreasonable to most, but completely do-able for me. The only sad part about this whole week is that it’s the end of the Harry Potter series. I started reading the books when I was elementary school and feel like I grew up with Harry and his friends. But there’s no room for negative nancies here so I’ll wipe away my tears and move on. Here are my Wins of the Week!
Wins for the Week for 7/5:
1.) Harry Potter t-shirts are designed and ordered! The whole goBRANDgo! gang will be sporting these gems Thursday night. Before starting here I never realized that there were others out there as freakishly obsessed with Harry Potter as I was, and after starting here I knew, that it was my destiny to design Harry Potter shirts for everyone. I mean it’s the LAST movie of the Harry Potter series. Go big or go home right?
2.) One of my favorite things about designing is being able to see the final product. Everytime the UPS or FEDEX truck stops infront of our office I’m as giddy as a school girl. Our huge 6 foot by 2 foot “Mission go! Possible” banner came in, and I’m very happy with how it turned out. Also, Bill Ellis’ business cards came in along most of the elements I designed for the NACCHO conference coming up in a few weeks. I’ve been lucky to work on such amazing projects within my first month here and look forward to the goodies I get to work on in the future!
3.) My last win is for our Quarterly Retreat we had this past Friday. It was pretty AMAZING. Not only was it extremely informational, it was a ton of fun. The image of Brian in Katie’s tube top will be forever ingrained in my memory. Tim looked very sexy in my suit jacket as well. Ow ow! “Where’d that donkey come from?”
Reflecting over the past month that I’ve been here (I’ve been here that long?!), I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with. I’ve spent more time with them this past month than I have with my family, boyfriend, and friends. And I’m completely okay with that. I’ve never worked in a place where people eat as much as I do, are just as sarcastic or more, radiate such a strong passion for their work and positive energy, and a place where Harry Potter is socially accepted. Although I’ve only been here for a month I can’t imagine working anywhere else and my only complaint is that I wish I started sooner. I’ve spent too many wasted years working at places where I wasn’t happy and had no idea where my life was heading. I look very forward to my future here as goBRANDgo!
Now to my go! homies: let’s hear your Wins for the Week!
