Why Marketing Is More Important Than Advertising

Why Marketing Is More Important Than Advertising

written by Derek Weber

A lot of people think that marketing and advertising are one in the same, when in fact advertising is just one small part of marketing.  Here is a great explanation of marketing from Investopidia.com that I think sums things up extremely well:

Many people believe that marketing is just about advertising or sales. However, marketing is everything a company does to acquire customers and maintain a relationship with them. Even the small tasks like writing thank-you letters, playing golf with a prospective client, returning calls promptly and meeting with a past client for coffee can be thought of as marketing. The ultimate goal of marketing is to match a company’s products and services to the people who need and want them, thereby ensure profitability.

I think the most powerful part of that paragraph is the second sentence, “marketing is everything a company does to acquire customers and maintain a relationship with them.”  This is where goBRANDgo! really soars above all of our competition.  We help our clients “market” better and more efficiently by creating a consistent brand image that provides the same feel and interaction across all of points of contact with your customers.  We work with everything that you can put your name on: letterhead & collateral pieces, website, promotional products, banners & signs, apparel, email newsletters, tradeshows, etc, etc. There are lots of companies out there that could provide you with most if not all of those products, but what we do is help you create an integrated plan to use all of them more effectively.

Our strategic marketing programs provide our clients with the tools and the means to provide the consistent experience that all consumers wish for.  From our turn-key drip marketing program to our tradeshow programs and even our ability to serve as your out-sourced marketing department, our proprietary systems provide the best possible solution for all of your marketing needs.

If you think your marketing could use a little sprucing up or even a total make-over, call or email us today and one of us would be more than happy to come and chat with you to see if we can help you bring in more business.
