Wins for week of 3/7
I have always enjoyed socializing (an attribute I inherited from my father -“Volcano” can strike up a conversation with anyone!) – so naturally I was very excited about the success of the Socialize St. Louis event!
In the last few months, I have watched Derek (goBRANDgo! president) work very hard along side Patrick Brown (Office of the Mayor) and Kasey Bergh (Manager of Community Affairs, Nestle-Purina) to breathe life into this organization and event. Personally, it was amazing for me to see how the passion that these three have for getting young, talented people plugged into the St. Louis scene has come to fruition. Many hours have gone into creating it’s purpose, getting sponsors on board, designing materials, & getting evites sent out.
With 334 RSVP’s to the event (on Fat Tuesday might I add), it was a huge success! The event started with a star show in the Planetarium followed up by a great speech from Mayor Slay on the future of our city. Then the party moved to the bridge over hwy 40 where wine, Schlafly beer and dessert was served. (Speed guns + beer = fun!) I’ve never seen this many young, energetic professionals in one place in my life – it was very refreshing.
Special thanks to the sponsors: Nestle-Purina, Schlafly, and the St. Louis Science Center for helping us make this event a success.
